I thought THERE IS NO YEAR might eat me carefully on a lawn, and it did. Somehow there is a momentum that forces me to continue forward, uncomfortably, a little. I like that each "chapter" is short, that the characters are nameless, are the nuclear family, have copies, have a house, that the house is strange, has televisions, other house things. I'm reading very fast, which is something that doesn't happen to me very often.

  1. yes. the book consumes you. i felt like i was inside of something very large and kind of scary during most of the book but felt fulfilled and a bit lost whenever i sat it down. he wrote it in a wild pace and you can feel it the whole way through.
