Editing Today & Tomorrow in earnest. Must continually read the ms. aloud. My partner pretends to enjoy listening. This is the fourth or fifth time I've read the ms. aloud (not including chapters that were read aloud numerous times while writing and editing). Now, when I read aloud, I am not pausing between sentences, which makes it sound clipped and hurried (which I like).
Tomorrow is this: race. In the interest of remaining healthy.
Books piled next to my bed:
The Girl With Brown Fur, Stacey Levine
Bats Out of Hell, Barry Hannah
Escapes, Joy Williams
Styles of Radical Will, Susan Sontag
The Stories of John Cheever, John Cheever
The Complete Novels, Jean Rhys
Zeitoun, Dave Eggers
A Jello Horse, Matthew Simmons
AM/PM, Amelia Gray
A Common Pornography, Kevin Sampsell
Tragic Relief, Colleen Frakes
Notable American Women, Ben Marcus
Have read or in the middle of reading/re-reading all of them at the same time. I need to focus my attention on one thing…
